This is the group study room available at the Houston Cole Library
The Group Study Room is only available to currently enrolled JSU students. Required fields are indicated with an asterisk (*). You should enter a first and second choice and can only reserve the room up to two hours at a time. Please see the Library Group Study Room Policy in the Houston Cole Library Policy and Procedures Manual for futher information.

Failure to comply with the following policies and procedures may result in a temporary or permanent suspension of access to the Group Study Rooms.
1. Reservation:
A. Reservations are required. Room reservations may be made no more than one week in advance. Reservations may be made by phone to the Circulation Desk (256-782-5758); in person at the Circulation Desk; or by using the online Group Study Room Request Form on the Library’s web site.
B. Reservations are limited to one per week and may be reserved for up to two hours at a time. This reservation may be extended if no other groups have requested a reservation.
C. Groups that have not made a reservation may be asked to relocate.
D. The Library reserves the right to deny the room to groups that use it excessively.
2. Room Use:
A. Keys to the Group Study Rooms are available for check-out at the Circulation Desk. A valid JSU ID will be held at the Circulation Desk until the room is secured and the key is returned.
B. A group that is more than 15 minutes late forfeits the reservation. The room will then be available for reassignment for the remaining time.
C. Upon returning the key, a Library staff member will verify the room’s inventory with a checklist. If it is satisfactory, the patron’s JSU ID will be returned and the account released from the reservation.
3. User Responsibility:
A. Users are responsible for their personal property at all times.
B. Users must comply with all HCL policies.
C. Users must clean the room leaving it in its original condition, and close and lock the door.
D. No furniture or equipment should be removed from the room. Any problems pertaining to its furniture or equipment should be reported to the Circulation Desk staff immediately.
E. The patron to whom the room is charged is responsible for the replacement cost of any damaged or missing keys, equipment, furniture, etc.
F. Late fines are $0.20 per minute / $10.00 per hour. The maximum fine is $200.00. There is a grace period of 10 minutes.
